James Gilmore

He was born on December 6, 1948 in Hope Mills to Earl and Louise Gilmore. He retired from the US Army after 20 years, where he received numerous medals including two Meritorious Service Medals, two Bronze Stars, two Purple Hearts, and five Vietnam Campaign Medals, and worked several years in retail sales.

Mr. Gilmore was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lena and David Adcox, and Lucinda and Samuel Gilmore; and a grandson, Tristin Wilson.

Along with his parents, Mr. Gilmore leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Chizuko Gilmore; six children, Wendy Buckner of Orange, CA, Brian Backs of Roseboro, NC, Kristel Earl of Fayetteville, AR, Andrea Wilson of Autryville, NC, Ashley Deminski of Washington, NC, and JC Gilmore of Autryville, NC; two brothers, Mickey Gilmore and Tommy Gilmore, both of Hope Mills, NC; four sisters, Mary Gilmore of Lumberton, NC, Patricia Gilmore of Hope Mills, NC, Julie Smith of Asheville, NC, and Jennie Coleman of Hope Mills, NC; 16 grandchildren, Monique Buckner, Robert Buckner, Amanda Backs, Travis Backs, Cody Backs, Charlotte Backs, Megan Earl, Jessica Earl, Dylan Wilson, Kylee Wilson, Julia Deminski, Kaitlyn Deminski, Chloe Deminski, Evan Deminski, Lana Gilmore, and Emrie Gilmore; and a great grandchild, Trystan Mosher.
