She was born on January 21, 1919 in Waialua, Hawaii on the Island of Oahu. She spent the majority of
her life in Honolulu, where she and her husband Joseph, raised their five sons. She will always be
remembered as a kind and generous woman, who would go out of her way to help family and friends.
She loved children and had great joy seeing her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren when they
visited. Always an excellent baker and cook. Our family enjoyed many meals of various cuisines from
her vast repertoire of recipes. Mom grew up during the Depression Era and was employed at Pearl
Harbor when it was bombed in 1941. She graduated from McKinley High School in 1937. She then
received her business degree from the Margaret Diets Business School. She worked as a clerk for the
State of Hawaii until her retirement in 1982. She exemplified the spirit of the “Greatest Generation”
where sacrifice and hardwork for family came first.
Mrs. Woo was predeceased by her husband, Joseph and her 2 nd son, Douglas. She is survived by her
younger sister Soo Myung Ferrante, her four sons Calvin (Susan), Brian (Sheryl), Arthur (Mi Sook), Eric
(Georgette) and daughter-in-law Patricia Woo. She had 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A

Chapel. Visitation at 9:30 AM and Services at 10:30 AM. Burial to follow at City Memorial Park
