John L. Davis, 88, of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away on December 25, 2014. He was born on the island of Maui, in the city of Lahaina. John served in the Army between 1954 - 1956 then worked the next 40+ years as a civilian assigned as an oiler on Navy ships, the Muskingum and the Petaluma that were part of the Military Sea Transportation Service (MSTS, later known as Military Sealift Command). John is survived by his son, Glenn Davis; sisters, Miriam McDuffie, Nele Sniffen, Nora Poole, and Zinnia Kikala.
A funeral service will be held on January 14, 2014 at Borthwick Mortuary - Mauka Chapel. Visitation will be at 9:30am and service will begin at 10:30am. Burial to follow at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery at 1pm.
