Elizabeth was born and raised in Mo‘ili‘ili, Territory of Hawai‘i (presently known as Honolulu, Hawai‘i) and was a proud graduate of Maryknoll School, Class of 1955. She worked for (and retired from) the State of
Hawai‘i while raising her seven children and helping to raise her grandchildren. Elizabeth enjoyed reading books, playing cards, volunteering at church, and watching University of Hawai‘i Rainbow Warrior Sports. She loved to spend time with her family, friends and her dogs. She especially loved traveling to Las Vegas to chase the “Royal Flush” at the “Cal” with her sisters and family members.
Elizabeth is survived by her sister, Audrey Ah Hee, her children, Gabriel Medeiros, Adrienne-Sunny Algoso (Dalbert), Geraldine Laamea (Kingston), Darrell Medeiros (Teresa), George Medeiros (Sherri), William Medeiros (Linda), and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel and Rosie Ah Hee, husband, Gelacio Daoang, sisters, Rose Gamiao, Cecilia Oshima, Henrietta Locquiao, and Stella Laroya, and her beloved son, Wallace “Bo” Kenneth Medeiros, Jr.
Elizabeth “Liz” Manukai Daoang was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend will be dearly missed. She truly lived her life personifying the motto of her alma mater, “Noblesse Oblige” (To whom much is given, much is expected).
Services will be held on Thursday, February 8th, 2024 at St. George
Catholic Church in Waimanalo.
