Dennis Leong
1943-2015
Dennis Leong was born in New York City on August 28, 1943. He was the only child of David Leong, a journalist, and Margaret Leong, a school teacher, counselor and poetry writer.
When he was six, Dennis and his parents moved to Singapore, where his father was originally from. Dennis lived in Penang and Singapore until the age of eighteen, before moving to St. Louis, Missouri with his mother. Soon after moving back to the United States, Dennis joined the Navy where he served for 23 years before retiring. Following his military career, Dennis worked as a US postal carrier for 20 years in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Dennis passed away peacefully on September 8, 2015. Dennis is survived by his wife Wendy Leong, step -daughter Pegeen Stougard, son-in-law Steve Stougard, and grandchildren Nathan and Kathryn.
Dennis was a loving husband, father, uncle, son, brother and friend. We will remember all of the wonderful times we had together and will love and miss him dearly.
