William E. “Bill” Whateley 72 of Homosassa Springs, FL died Friday, August 20, 2010 at HPH Hospice House in Lecanto. Born December 1, 1937 in Vineland, NJ and moved to Homosassa Springs in 1978 from St. Petersburg. Bill was the owner of Gator Manufacturing of Homosassa. A member of Suncoast Baptist Church, were he served as Chairman of the Deacons and previous Sunday School Teacher.
He was preceded in death by his parents William E. Whateley, Sr. and Delores (Fox) Whateley and daughter Pamela Hall.
Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years Shirley J. Whateley of Homosassa; son Bill (Michelle) Whateley, Jr. of Homosassa; 3 daughters Deborah (Ed) Browning of St Petersburg, Theresa (Wayne) Ferguson of Billerica, MA and Patricia Whateley of Clearwater; 2 brothers Kenneth Sloan of Bradenton, FL and Carl Whateley of Merced, CA; sister Beverly Smith of Oneco, FL; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 a. m., Tuesday, August 24 at Wilder Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Burns officiating. Interment will follow in Stage Stand Cemetery. Friends will be received Tuesday, from 10 a. m. until the hour of service.
