William Bernard “Bill” Kemper II, 64, of Homosassa, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at his home. A native of Covington, Kentucky, he was born Aug. 22, 1952 to William Bernard I and Dorles (Webster) Kemper, one of six children. Bill, as he was known to everyone, served his country proudly and honorably in the United States Army in the early 1970’s and was stationed in Germany. Mr. Kemper moved to Homosassa from his native Covington, where he had retired from the City of Covington as a police officer. After arriving in Citrus County, Bill also held positions as a concrete truck driver for DAB Constructors and also the United States Post Office as a letter carrier covering the route in Hernando, FL. He was a parishioner of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Crystal River, FL. Bill passionately rode a Harley until recently and was also an avid fisherman and Tampa Bay Bucanneers fan. Mr. Kemper is survived by two children, Jason Robert Kemper (fiancé Heather Coxe), Brooksville, FL and Angela Kemper (fiancé Leo Stoddard), Homosassa, FL: siblings Brenda Schrichte, St. Petersburg, FL; Deborah Warren (husband J.B.), Sardinia, OH and Juanita Keithman, Cincinnati, OH as well as grandchildren Anna and Jenna. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 36 years, JoAnne T. Kemper on June 10, 2010; a son, William Bernard Kemper III, on July 25, 2008 and siblings Darlene Morrison and David Smith, as well as a brother-in-law, Fred Schrichte. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Benedict Catholic Church at 9:30 A.M. on Friday, July 14, 2017 with Fr. Gregory Andrews, Celebrant.
