 In the past year, I've remembered Ron much. Yes, his passing is sad, but every remembrance is associated with memories of happy,  positive good times. Hi-ya Ron, miss ya.  

My brother Ron was one of my heroes in life, when he passed a way a little of me passed with him. But as long as I live, he will live also but the sun won’t be as bright. See you again one day Ron, love you forever 

 In 2014 I was remodeling a small eatery. Ron was present, extending a helping hand, which was an inherent trait of his, as he would always assisted anyone in need, stranger or friend. While taking a break from the remodeling, I contemplated out loud as to what could be done with some leftover wine rack material. With my thoughts at a dead end, an opportunity for Ron’s quick wit arose. He grabbed some piping and went right to the band stage and debuted his “not” for broadway one man act. Why do I love this picture? The backstory combined with the visual imaging caught a moment that depicts Ron’s generosity and ever-present quick wit. From time to time I would show him this pic or send it to him in a text or email for some fun ribbing. Dilly-Dilly!    

Higgs worked on the VA’s Storage Team and was very knowledgeable and professional. His efforts helped us address several capacity problems. He was a team player and carried his weight. 
Higgs was also a good friend to me, offering advice and encouragement when my fibromyalgia  symptoms made it difficult to  meet my deliverables. I miss him everyday and am deeply saddened. Good bye my friend, may you rest in peace!

I have lots of great memories with Ron.  Going out on the boat on Lake Sammamish, golf at Harbor Point, Pinochle games, barbequing steaks at the Woodinville house and just generally hanging out together. He had a generous soul and saw everyone as a friend. I will miss him and appreciate how he took care of and loved my mom over the years.

You will be missed, Ron -- Rest In Peace 

I was so lucky to be able to call Ron my grandpa. I remember when I was a little girl, my grandpa and I would dance to 50s music in the living room, and my grandpa would bring me into his office. He'd ask me all sorts of crazy questions like "Moll, what do you think the meaning of life is?" to me at age 7, and I would spin the globe in his office and laugh.  I think of him everyday, and I love him so much.

Ron and I shared almost 30 years together.  A week after I met Ron I told my mother I met the man I'm going to marry.  It took 6-1/2 yrs, but we were married in a wonderful surprise wedding planned by Ron and our friends Martha and Rob. We had so many wonderful travels and memories together over the years.  No matter what difficulties we would face, Ron always had a positive attitude and in his words "we always fell up".   He wore his heart on his sleeve and never failed to let me and his family and friends know how much he cared about us.  I'll always picture him with a big smile on his face; always trying to make us laugh with his quick wit.   Ron was special and I'm so thankful he  was in m life.   I'll miss him terribly, but will smile whenever I think of him because he made me happy. 

I was so blessed to have such a wonderful Father-in-law.  I have so many stories that I could share, this one may describe his character the most.  Adam and I had been living in a small apartment outside of NYC and decided to move to Virginia for my new job October 2001.  Adam was starting a new job also at the same and needed to be out of state for pilot training.   My parents were living in Arizona at the time, Ron and Marilyn were in the Seattle area.  Adam and I talked to Ron on the phone about our struggles with figuring out our move.   He said he would handle it.   He flew to NY, took a taxi to our apartment, helped me finish packing up, drove the moving truck all the way to Virginia, and helped me unload everything all on the same day.  When we needed him, he was always there.   My favorite memories are of us all sitting outside at their home eating dinner, talking, and listening to him tell us how happy he was that we were there.  I loved him, I loved being in his presence, and I am so grateful to have had a Father-in-law like him.  I will always miss him, until I see him again. 

One of my favorite memories of Ron and Marilyn is the day Ron surprised Marilyn at the foot of Snoqualmie Falls in Washington. The best man, the minister, and I were hiding out of sight behind a boulder in the stream below the falls and popped up just as Ron and Marilyn were about to discover us as they walked towards the falls. I handed her bouquet to her and the best man gave the ring to Ron.

Marilyn was beautiful in her blue jeans and sneakers, and they were married then and there! She was a picture of joy and Ron was so proud that he could pull it off! Looking up at the lodge were all of the guests standing by the fence overlooking the falls watching and smiling. 

Then we all went up to the lodge where we went to our rooms and dressed up and had a beautiful, unforgettable celebration partying into the night and through the next day! Marilyn wore a stunning wedding gown and Ron was in black tie.  Everybody was dressed to the hilt. Champagne flowed, and everyone was so happy for the lucky couple! What a match made in heaven. 

And yes, there were funny stories about clothes that arrived late and other misadventures, but all in all, it was perfect and remained perfect for the rest of their life together. 

I'll miss Ron and Marilyn - I'll always think of them together, and I'll miss effervescent Ron and the surprises and love he continually pulled out of his hat, but we'll always have the memories of the good-hearted lad who stole Marilyn's heart away.

We love you both, Marilyn, and will never forget Ron!

Ron has a huge place in my heart, and it's tough to accept that he's gone. 
I'll always remember him by his quick wit and easy smile. His positive attitude was infectious, and he left a lasting impression on people. He showed me how to practice gratitude and to be a generous person. 
He's certainly going to be missed, but I'm grateful that he was a part of my life.

We were blessed to be able to stop and see Ron and Marilyn in May on a visit to a friend's home in Florida. We had done that on another visit some years ago. Ron and Marilyn were so welcoming and Ron was his jovial and positive self. Gone too soon. We will miss you. Rest in peace Ron.

I will love my Dad forever.   I am so great full we were so close.  I’ve learned so much from him about life.  He was a great man and Dad.  I’m really going to miss him 😢.  I was so lucky to be his son.
