Linda Lambo

Linda Margaret Lambo, 64, of Crystal River, died Thursday March 3, 2011 at her home in the care of Hospice of Citrus County. She was born November 12, 1946 to George and Teresa (Harvey) Thomas in Burton Upon Trent, England. Linda grew up in Montreal Canada and came to Florida 41 years ago.

As an active member in her community Linda opened the first Subway restaurant in Citrus County 27 years ago in Crystal River. Through hard work and perseverance she expanded her business and opened six more Subway restaurants since then. She was a beloved mother and grandmother who loved spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Linda was an amazing woman with a big heart; she was very generous and always willing to help others in need.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew Stéphane LaMarche of Canada. Her survivors include two sons, David Lambo of Crystal River, Scott Lambo and fiancé Michelle Stephens of Homosassa, sister Diane (Thomas) LaMarche, three grandchildren, Ashley and Payge Lambo and Tyler Eagleson, and nephews Robert and Paul LaMarche of Canada.

The family would like to thank close friend Gloria Driscoll for the warmth and love she gave Linda at the close of her life.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2011 at Wilder Funeral Home in Homosassa. The funeral service will be on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Fountains Memorial Park in Homosassa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made; checks made payable to Suntrust Bank of Crystal River, referencing Linda Lambo Memorial Trust Fund.
