Antje Jacobson, 85, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Sun., Sept. 24, 2023 at HCA Florida Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, FL. A native of Stroehen, West Germany, Antje was born Dec. 12, 1937 to Rudolph and Edith (Clar) Diepholz, one of four children. Mrs. Jacobson moved to Homosassa in the late 1980’s from Vernon Hills, Illinois and enjoyed a long 20 year career with Riverhaven Marina in Homosassa, serving in administration. Antje was Methodist by faith, and held memberships in both the First United Methodist Church and Grace Methodist Church, both of Homosassa, where she enjoyed volunteering in their Food Pantries. Upon the passing of her beloved husband of 44 years, Leland John Jacobson, in 2007, she found peace and enjoyment in participating in their widows groups as well. Antje enjoyed needlework, baking, and pursued her love of outdoor nature by tending to her gardens. Her perfect day would begin with a bowl of oatmeal with blueberries followed by her gardening outside before the day grew hot. Then there were crossword puzzles, Sudoku and jigsaw puzzles to occupy her mind and keep her sharp. She enjoyed a glass of wine occasionally and loved watching “Fr. Brown” on PBS television. She experienced great joy in spending time with her church families when she was not home. In addition to her parents and late husband Leland, she was also preceded in death by two of her siblings, Freda and Imka. Mrs. Jacobson is survived by her daughter, Antje Jacobson Rorig, also known as “A.J.” and her husband Dean of Cambridge, MN; grandchildren Antje Diona Williams, Vienna, VA; Eric Williams, Dayton, OH and Gabriel Rorig, Bloomington, MN; brother Rudi Diepholz, Bridgeport, W. Va; nephew Marc Gildner, Amherst, NY and niece Freyda Osborne, Bristol, TN. A Celebration of Life will take place at Wilder Funeral Home, 4890 S.
