Tom Wilson, of Homewood, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, the 12th of November, 2021. He was 93 years of age. Mr. Wilson was born on the 20th of December, 1927 in the state of Louisiana.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Marion S. Wilson; 4 children, Mark Wilson (Leigh Ann), Janis Melvin (Larry), Amy Savage (Doc), and Chris Wilson. He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren, Andy Wilson, Luke Wilson, Kevin Melvin, and Clay Melvin; and by his 7 great grandchildren, Jackson, Tucker, Cooper, Arlo, Scarlett, C.J., and Logan.
A longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Mr. Wilson was a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham earning his degree in structural engineering. He retired from Rust Engineering and was a veteran who served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Funeral services will commence at Noon on Tuesday, the 16th of November at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood with burial immediately following at Currie-Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Hoover. Friends are cordially invited to the visitation one hour prior to the service.
