Ruth Taylor Helton walked into heaven Saturday November 28, 2015 at the age of 93. She was born on November 9, 1922 in Corbin, KY to the late Elijah and Georgia Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Richard Helton of 58 years and sister Margie Lee Smith. She is survived by her only child Peggy Lewis (Marshall); sister Bobbie Jo Ridgeway and "Gran Gran" to her grandchildren Marshall (Sarah) Lewis, Jennifer (Josh) Culbertson; great grandchildren Samuel Bennett Culbertson, Kathleen Virginia Culbertson and Evie Taylor Lewis. She was a long time member of Hunter Street Baptist Church. She will be remembered for her generous, unconditional love and devotion as a wife, mother and grandmother. The family wishes to thank her loving caregivers Linda Gary, Cassandra Kirskey, Devonna Goodson and Gloria Carr. Visitation will be Wednesday Dec 2, 2015 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood, AL, with the service following at 12:00 PM.
