Patricia Gail Hulsey Hood entered into Eternal Rest on September 6th, 2019. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia and grew up singing in the White Oak Hills Baptist Church. She graduated from Southwest DeKalb High School in 1960 and then attended Georgia State University before moving to Montgomery, Alabama where she raised her children, worshiped her Risen Savior in the Memorial Presbyterian Church choir, and was a member of the Montgomery Civic Chorale. In addition to singing, she enjoyed sewing, playing bridge, reading her Bible, helping strangers in need and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived with love by her children Rob Hood (Wendy) and Abigail Avery (Jason) of Birmingham, and Brooks Hood (Porrun) of Reykjavik, Iceland, her sister Phyllis Blosfeld (Jerry) of Snellville, Ga and by seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and one nephew. Her family will receive friends on Monday, September 9th at Ridout’s Funeral Home in Homewood, AL from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and Friday, September 13th, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Eternal Hills Funeral Home in Snellville, Ga. A graveside service will follow the visitation at Eternal Hills. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates with gratitude donations made in Mom’s memory to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association or Samaritan’s Purse.
