Mary Nell Messina Crocker

Mary Nell Messina Crocker, age 69 of Hoover, passed away on August 23, 2017. She is now set free from her suffering and broken heart. She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Crocker and her parents, Paul and Nellie Messina. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Richard Crocker, Sr.; her children, Natalie Portera (Danny), Rick Crocker, Jr. (Amanda) and grandchildren; Danielle Portera, Dominique Portera, Joshua Crocker, Caleb Crocker, Cassie Crocker, Zaeli Crocker and Audrey Crocker; her brothers, Norman Messina (Gaethea), Paul Messina (Helena) and sister, Janette Alexander (Mike). Mary Nell will be greatly missed by her children and grandchildren who have so many happy memories of family pasta dinners on the weekends. The family wishes to thank her wonderful caregivers, Jill Coley, Dorothy Hatch, Valerie Hasty and Janet Hudson. The family will receive friends 9:30-11:00 on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Hoover. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 at the church immediately followed by a graveside service at Currie - Jefferson Memorial Gardens on Hwy 150 in Hoover. A dinner will follow the graveside service, celebrating Mary Nell's life, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
