I am glad to have known him.  My thoughts and prayers are with Mark's family on this day.

I am still missing my brother very much, but it is a comfort to read these messages and to realize how many people saw the kindness and spirit Mark had. For those who are seeing new messages: Thank you for your kind words, and know that we are grateful to you for your friendship.

Mark, I am so sorry that we didn't have lunch like we had planned. I cannot believe you are gone. Back in the day me you and April Barbour were thick as thieves .... You will forever be loved and truly missed!

I still can't bring myself to delete our very last texts to each other… confirming lunch for the very next day. I think of you daily and find myself wanting to text/talk to you still. It has taken mw a while to type something here bc you being gone hurts so much. Heck, you saw the road I was going down many years ago and pretty much saved my life. I had the privilege of meeting and working with Mark while at DocSci. He was a reliable, trustworthy, and amongst the nicest people there. Our time was brief but he surely know how to brighten a grueling work day with his fun attitude in person and on the phone.

Mark was my best and greatest friend. For years I can not think of a time where we were not doing something..going to dinner or even just watching movies. He was a great man and I am lost at the thought of not being able to talk to him!. Rest in peace my dear friend you will forever be in my heart. I had the privilege of working with Mark for many years at DocSci and EMC. Although I only got to see him once or twice a year at company events, it felt as though he was in the next cubicle all those years. I'll never forget his smile, his laugh, that wonderful Southern drawl, and what an extremely hard-working man he was, so willing to go above and beyond to help in so many times. I am deeply saddened to hear the news of his passing and my prayers are with Mark's family and those fortunate to be close to him during this toughest of times. It doesn't seem fair, but we can hopefully find some peace in the knowledge that he's at peace with God as his protector. Mark, we'll miss you.

Mark and I worked together at Document Sciences. I lost touch with him after I left the company. We always had fun together. I remember his wonderful laugh and wicked sense of humor. I'm so sorry this happened. My thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones.

Mark and I started at EMC/Document Sciences together and worked as a team for many years. He was one of the sharpest and hardest working people I've had the pleasure to work with. Mark never flinched when the things got tough and timelines got short. He was always positive, cheerful, and a joy to work with. Mark, you will be deeply missed.

I helped interview Mark when he was hired and I worked with him ever since. We were part of the work fulltime at home bunch together. I'll miss his sense of humor and just having him around.

I worked with Mark first at Document Sciences, and then at EMC.  He was very funny and I always looked forward to interacting with him because I knew he would always leave a smile on my face!  I am very saddened to hear of his passing, and I send my deepest sympathies to his family and friends.  His passing is a shock and the world will be a little less bright without him in it.

Mark was one of the few people I kept in touch with after high school. I have so many memories of Mark most of them related to music. He was sweet and had such a funny wicked sense of humor that we will all miss.

When I moved back to Birmingham in '99, Mark was a dear friend who was always there for those last minute dinner plans.  He had a contagious sense of humor, an ear for great music, enjoyed spontaneous adventures, and he introduced me to the world of auctions.  I always think of you Mark when I look at the mini-Eiffel Tower in my backyard.  Love & Miss You.

I worked with Mark and just found out what happened. I am in shock. He was one of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. I pray for his family.
