Margaret “Peggy “Pruitt Faircloth died peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 25, 2015. Peggy grew up in Miami, Florida and attended Florida State University and lived in Mountain Brook for over forty years. Peggy was known for her art of entertaining, her delicious gourmet cooking, most notably her desserts, and her loyal support of the Mountain Brook High School football team of which she attended 464 consecutive football games. Peggy was a member of Brookwood Baptist Church and was involved in many civic activities including Women’s Committee of 100 (Past President), Alea, Civiettes, Silhouettes Dance Club, Samford University School of the Arts and Legacy Foundation, Salvation Army Auxiliary and Women Committee of Alabama Symphony. Peggy worked tirelessly on many fund raising activities for numerous charities including American Cancer Society, Prescott House, Samford University Friends of the Arts and United Cerebral Palsy.
Peggy loved her family the most and is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Judge Robert “Bob” Faircloth; son: Robert Faircloth, Jr. (Karen) and Jack Faircloth (Cheryl) of San Diego, California; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother Bill Pruitt of West Palm Beach, Florida; sister: Inia Jean Plumb of Lynn haven, Florida and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family is grateful to her loving caregivers Renardia Scott and Loretta Carter and Vitas Hospice.
