Marcia B. Bentley

Marcia Johnson Barlow Bentley of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022 at the age of 90. She lived a long and fulfilling life. She cared deeply for her family and enjoyed spending time working in her yard. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was involved in UMW, Sunday school, and other missions at the church. Marcia worked as an executive secretary and was a member of Professional Secretaries International where she served as President. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi, a professional women’s sorority. She found great joy in serving and entertaining friends and family.

Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony Johnson and Belva Jones Johnson Chandler; brother, Wayne Johnson; husband, Jack Bentley; and son, Gary Barlow. She is survived by her brother, Mickey Johnson (Darla); daughter, Stacey Bentley King (James); grandchildren, Adam Barlow (Kim), Jacob King, Olivia King; great-grandchildren, Blake Barlow, Cason Barlow, and Davis Barlow; nephews, Chad (Andrea) and Shane (Stephanie) Johnson; three great-nephews, Tate, Nash, and Phillip Johnson.

Visitation will be at Ridout's Valley Chapel, 1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 10 AM, with the funeral service following at 11 AM with burial following at Elmwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church.
