Lulie Bartee Hodges died July 24, 2021 at Kirkwood By The River at the age of 100. She was born in Mobile, Alabama to Mary Radcliff and Robert Thomas Bartee. She was predeceased by her husband Charles Otto Hodges, Jr. She is survived by her four children, Lulie Mallard (Lynwood), Florence Copeland, Lolita Irvin and Tom Hodges (Susan). Lulie has 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She was a rock of the family and always on call to help where needed.
Lulie graduated from Ramsey High School and attended The University of Alabama. Lulie was a founding member of Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church and founded Al-anon in Alabama. She was a master bridge player. Lulie was an avid genealogy researcher and traveled far and wide in this pursuit. She was deeply loved and will be missed greatly.
A memorial service for Lulie will be held Monday, July 26, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 3736 Montrose Rd, Mtn. Brook, AL 35213. A family graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery.
