Helen is well-known and respected in the Birmingham area for her many volunteer activities including several Homewood City School PTA offices, longtime membership in Vestavia Hills Art Association, many years and many jobs at Trinity United Methodist Church, Den Mother with Cub Scout Pack 397, leadership positions with the Docents at the Birmingham Museum of Art, and her Valley Forge Freedom Foundation Award-winning Primrose Place 4th of July parades.
Mrs. Snow was preceded in death by her husband Hubert Anderson Snow, Jr., and sisters Thelma Pritchett and Carolyn DeShazo. She is survived by her sons Dean Snow (Elaine) and Gary Snow (Kim), both of Homewood, and grandchildren Ian Snow (Elaine) of Dallas, Andrew Snow (Madelyn) of Colorado Springs, Hubert Snow, III of Atlanta, Ashley Snow, and Regan Snow, both of Homewood. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Hudson and Evelyn Snow of Colorado Springs, and many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Surviving siblings include her sister Catherine Cofield of Atlanta, brother Robert Hassler (Pat) of Foley, Alabama, and brother-in-law Mike DeShazo of Birmingham.
The visitation and funeral will be at 10:00 and 11:00 respectively on Wednesday, January 3rd at Trinity United Methodist Church, and the burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. The Reverends Reid Crotty and Dr. Andrew Wolfe will officiate. The family requests that memorials be made to Trinity United Methodist Church and The Birmingham Museum of Art.
