David Yancey Casey

David Yancey Casey, age 68 of Birmingham, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012. Born in Rome, GA, he attended Shorter College and served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany from 1966-69. A long time and past member of Vestavia Country Club, David retired from Boral Bricks in 2003 and was a member of Shades Valley Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, H.D. and Jenelle Casey; sisters, Judy Casey and Jane Casey Carlisle. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Lynn Rawls Casey; sons, David Yancey Casey Jr. (Mary Lou) and Peter Rawls Casey (Kris); two beloved grandchildren, Elizabeth Lynn Casey and David Yancey Casey III. Visitation will be Thursday, June 21 at 10:00 a.m. at Shades Valley Presbyterian Church with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Greater Birmingham Humane Society, 300 Snow Dr, Birmingham, AL 35209 or Shades Valley Presbyterian Church, 2305 Montevallo Rd, Birmingham, AL 35223.
