Charles Robert Spivey Jr.

Charles Robert Spivey, Jr., went to be with his Heavenly Father on January 29, 2014. Bob as he was affectionately known was a World War II Marine Veteran, having been awarded two Purple Hearts during his service. He was an avid golfer, farmer, and banker, having retired from Southtrust Bank as Executive Vice President in 1980. In 1989 he became Chairman of the Board of Metro Bank in Pell City, Alabama at it's inception and remained in that position until his passing. Mr. Spivey was preceded in death by his father, Charles Robert Spivey, Sr., his mother, Pearl Corder Spivey, his first wife, Chris and his sister, Susie. Mr. Spivey is survived by his present wife, Marjean; his daughters, Christye, Anna Shinick (Brian); grandsons, Brett Shinick (Jennifer), and Sean Shinick; great grandchildren, Marissa and Collin Shinick; and one brother, Richard Spivey. Mr. Spivey is also survived by two Step-sons, Todd Bailey (Denise), and Scott Bailey (Michele); and grandchildren, Amanda, Tyler, Cole, Brett and Tate Bailey. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 PM at Mtn. Chapel United Methodist Church, Saturday, February 1, 2014, 2541 Rocky Ridge Road, Birmingham, AL 35243, Pastor Tom Parrish, Officiating.
