CAROL G.KIRBY, died April 1, 2014. A native of Birmingham, Carol was a graduate of Woodlawn High School, where she was a cheerleader and involved in many activities. She was a realtor at Ray and Company for a number of years and was a talented agent. Carol was a faithful friend to many and loved to entertain and to travel. She was an excellent cook and had become a master at gourmet meals. A lover of animals, her faithful dog Lauren was with her until the end. She married her high school sweetheart, and they had celebrated 49 years of marriage. Her husband, J. Stuart Kirby, survives her, as does her much loved sister and brother, Betty and her husband John Miller; and Wayne Galloway and his wife Claudette. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Jennifer Cameron Kirby. She also is survived by her brothers- and sister-in-laws, Howell and Coby Kirby; Dr. Donald and Jean Kirby; and Jane and Neal Burnett, all of whom played a big part in her life. She also is survived and by her nieces and nephews, who were special to her. The family would like to thank Carol's loving caregivers, Gloria and Toni Motley. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 5 at 11:00 a.m. at Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 at the chapel, followed by a family graveside service. Pallbearers are Anthony Serra, Dr. Donald Kirby, Howell Kirby, Grady Burrow, Charles Derrick Galloway, and Fred Brown. -
