Dear Dad,
We still think of you everyday. I miss having dinner with you on Sundays. My first birthday & Thanksgiving without you were bitter sweet. Thomas is doing great in school & baseball! He made the Honor Roll last quarter & hit the home run in the Championship game on Thursday night. I hope you saw it because I know you would be so proud. He will miss you on his birthday, but knows that you love him very much & will be with him in your own way.

Uncle Tom - I sadly miss you and am reminded of you as I see several of your traits in my own Daddy. The two of you are a lot alike, as brothers often are. I am so lucky to have had you in my life for so many years. We shared many, many Christmas', Thanksgivings, birthdays and all the other family gatherings in between. Your legacy will proudly live on in Kimberly and Thomas as you watch upon them from above.

I will never forget Tom's witty remarks and his laugh.  He was a kind and gentle man who was dedicated to his country and who loved his friends and family.  He was in heaven whenever he was with his daughter, Kimberly, and his grandson, Thomas.  Rick, Adam and I used to love getting together with Tom on holidays - he especially loved the Fourth of July, when he would cook on the grill and tell jokes.  Even after Hurricane Andrew, he was still smiling and laughing, as he climbed over the tree that had fallen in the middle of his mother's home.  I am so glad to have known him.  He will always be remembered with love.

Tom, you are gone, but the recollections of you live on in the hearts of those who loved you.  I will miss your dry sense of humor, and the quiet gentleness and humility with which you lived your life.  Looking at the beautiful pictures of you as a child, I realized you left the best of yourself for us to love and cherish - your daughter, Kimberly, and your grandson, Thomas. I will always picture my uncle Tom the way I saw him as a child.  He was a tall, sweet man who was always approachable and warm.  He had a great sense of humor and loved to joke with us and make us laugh.  He could be leathal with his ablility to chase you down and tickle you.  I remember Flor helping Kim and I cook a meatloaf topped with ketchup that I thought was a true showcase of our culinary talents which he ate with a smile.  He made sure the swing set in the back was clean and secure for us and provided us with a club house in the backyard.  He was a great caring uncle that will sincerely be missed.

So Very sorry for your loss.  I knew your dad in high school and always thought him a person of great character.  Our son was also a marine and now one of our grandsons is in the uniform. I was saddened by your Dads passing and want to extend my deep and heart felt sympathy to you and your family. Tom was a character at times, what with his wise crack's etc, but he always had a smile on his face, well most of the time anyway. He was a good man and a good friend, and I'll miss him. As long as you keep him in your heart, he'll never be forgotten. And I hope that you find comfort and strength in the memories you shared with your Dad. He was one of the good guy's!

Remembering my Uncle Tom.... a man I regarded as "very tall" and "blue-eyed" when I was just a little girl. I remember looking for traces of you in Kimberly's looks and personality; thinking, "...she has his height (check!) and maybe his nose?". I would think, how lucky she'd have been if she'd ended up with those blue eyes! Ofcourse Kim and all of us cousins had to make due with brown. It's funny what we think of as a contribution to the family when we're kids. Later, I would affectionately refer to you as my Uncle Tom, Kim's dad! I always wanted to know more about you, in many ways you were a mystery to me. I can say, that even as a child, I knew you had a good heart. Today, I look on with adult eyes, at your daughter Kimberly; And I realize she has inherited more than a few inches in height from her strapping military Father, she has a doubly good heart thanks to what is true about your spirit. You have a legacy! I hope to have the chance to know you better one day; as I imagine having the same opportunity with so many other relatives that have passed on. I suppose I'll just have to wait.
