James D Boyce

James D. “Jimmy” Boyce, 75, of New Bloomfield passed away Friday, May 13, 2011 at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born January 1, 1936 in New Bloomfield, the son of the late Joseph Shelby and Lydia (Heinsohn) Boyce.

Jimmy was a dedicated farmer all his life, working in crop fields and tending to his cattle. He was a member of Dixie Christian Church.

He is survived by one brother, Joe Boyce and his wife Mary Lou of New Bloomfield; nephew Joe Boyce, Jr. and wife Terri; niece Janda Coursey and husband Bryan; niece Linda Davis and late husband Stan; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 11 o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Williams Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 until 7 at Debo Funeral Home in Holts Summit. In lieu of customary memorials, the family suggests donations be made in Jimmy’s honor to the Williams Cemetery Fund or Dixie Christian Church.
