Shirley Marie Bowen

BOWEN. Miami Gardens, FL Shirley Bowen, March 26, 1926- November 5, 2012. It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our Nana Shirley. She passed away at Vitas Hospice in Aventura, FL. She was born and raised in Providence, RI. She married Travis G. Bowen (deceased) on November 22, 1945. He was truly the love of her life. On August 13,1950 she gave birth to her one and only child Debra (Bowen) Edens. Debra married Edward Edens in 1975. She not only was a wonderful mother to her daughter, she was a loving Nana to her grandchildren, Gregory Edens,(Cheryl Edens), Victoria Edens Kozdron, (Jeff Kozdron) and Carlie Edens Burgess, (Will Burgess). She is also survived by six great-grandchildren. Dustin Edens, Dalton Edens, Dillon Edens, Ryan Kozdron, Elizabeth Kozdron, and John Burgess. Nana Shirley has lived in care of her daughter and son in law for 8 yrs. They have taken such good care of her every need. She often called Eddie her very own Saint. We were so truly blessed to be raised by such a strong, honest, faithful, and beautiful woman. We love you Nana Shirley, A bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck. We all know that you are dancing in heaven with Papa Travis .

Funeral arrangements are with Fred Hunters at 6301 Taft Street Hollywood, FL. Viewing Thursday 4-8pm. Funeral Mass at Nativity Catholic Church, 5200 Johnson Street Hollywood, FL at 11am Friday.
