Hi MomJust stopped by to tell you I miss you. I need you more now than ever because there is no one else that showed love like you did. I know love never dies. I just miss you so very much. I'm sure you were surprised by the loving souls who met you in heaven, just as I am sure you know why I did not tell you they had passed before you. I believe your soul is in a happy place. But, God knows, I love and miss you more than ever.

Although I am the last of your children to make an entry in memory of you, your passing has been difficult for me to comprehend. There are so many good memories that could fill a book, but I will try to tell some that I think of the most.My first day away from your loving arms was in kindergarten when you walked with me all the way to St. Pancras. From the moment we left our house and for the rest of the all I did was cry. I remember the Nun Sister Mary Hope called you to tell you about my all day crying episode. After a week of kindergarten, I stopped crying, but I could not wait to come home and be with you again.As the years passed, my father and I would pick you up to drive you home from a Bingo game with the hope that you won. Winning a Bingo game always meant at trip to Jahn's in Richmond Hill for ice cream.My best friend & classmate, Larry Dearking, would come home every day for lunch at "The Smith House". When we came in our house you were always at the stove making Campbell's chicken noodle soup and a sandwich for both of us. The few times when you were not home, you would always have a covered pot on the stove with a note telling Larry and me where the sandwiches were.You were there for me and your 4 other children all the time. All 5 of us remember the sound of the cow bell ringing on Christmas Eve while we waited to come down the stairs to open our gifts. The anticipation was second to none... especially the "mountain" of gifts for us.As I write this, my eyes a full of tears because you are gone, but I take comfort knowing you are with your husband and our father in Heaven.Even though you are gone all these great memories will be with me and my siblings forever. My prayers for you continue until we meet in Heaven.Take care, Mom you are simply the best Mother we all could ask for.

Mom,Although I am sure you always knew how I felt about you Mom, I will share a few precious memories of just how special you were to me and my family. The year was 1963 when Ray brought me home to meet you and Dad. Since Ray called me "Reggie" you expected to meet one of the "boys". We hit if off right from the start. So much happened after that day. You and I spent many an evening drinking hot tea and playing cards while trying to pass the time while Ray was in Vietnam.God did answer our prayers and brought Ray safely home. You shared in the excitement of our wedding, our first house and the birth of our children. Bellerose was a place where we made so many memories. More beautiful memories were made throughout the years when we lived in Florida. We had such wonderful holidays and Sunday meals spent together. You were a special mother/grandmother to all of us. God blesses us with different gifts.One of your special gifts was that you were able to comfort others. You always had such a gentle, kind spirit. Mom, "May the Lord reward your work, and your wages be full from the Lord, under whose wings you have come to seek refuge.Thank you Mom for the blessing of your love. The things you did for others, your kindness and your love are a day-by-day reflection of our Father up above. The people we love live on in our hearts. Losing Grandma is bittersweet. I loved her very much! She was an amazing woman. I have very fond memories of her. I remember when I was younger we would catch lizards outside her house in FL and eat tuna sandwiches together. She made them the best with extra mayonnaise. She taught me how to play Tiddly Winks, Monkeys in a Barrel and Kings in the Corner. She would turn her back porch into a roller skating rink for us. She got me hooked on Dark Shadows which I occasionally still watch the re-runs today. When I got older she was still there for me. She loved riding in my van because she could get in and out of it easily. I remember picking her up for Sunday dinner at my mom and dad's house. She always looked lovely when she came for dinner. She had the nicest coordinated outfits with pins on her blouse and beautiful hair and polished nails. We had such nice family dinners and I know she really enjoyed spending time with us and getting to see her great grandchildren as well. I used to go to Bingo with her at St. David's. She was so cute with her Bingo bag and markers. I always had such a fun time spending the afternoon with her. When I was pregnant she gave me the best foot massages. I always knew how much she loved me. She never hesitated to tell me how proud she was of me. That meant so much to hear her say that. I really miss those times with her. In celebration of Grandma I am having a tuna fish sandwich tonight and watching Dark Shadows. As I write this I am tearing up...Grandma, I love you and you will be forever in our hearts. I'm so sorry for your loss. Please accept my deepest sympathy. May you find comfort from your memories, as well as God's word the bible. Why do people we love die? Romans 5:12 says: "That is why, just as through one man (Adam) sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned." How loving of God to promise what is found at Revelation 21:4 which says, "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. Hello,I'm Donna's sister,You know me you gave Donna some dmc for me that I was missing.You have done some beautiful work in your days with all that needle work you have done counted cross stitch you must have done thousands of them. And now you can show all your friends up in heaven how to do it also.You are in good hands now up in heaven. Now you can rest in peace. Every one misses you.

A Mother -in -law that I have loved dearly and will miss beyond belief. I have nothing but fond memories of our times together over the years. Disney trips with Brian and you playing in the townhouse and coming home to Harper's Ferry house to see you laughing in the Kitchen was great. Your support and love of family was a blessing . Her faith and belief in God was and forever will be respected by me . She never said a bad thing about anyone and always made me feel loved.God speed my Queen and enjoy your new life with all the family and friends in heaven!!

When the enemy death strikes your grief can be great. It's never the right time to say goodbye to a loved one. Death too to many seems to be a part of life. It's during times such as these that we can find comfort in the Lord's Prayer in Matthew 6:9, 10 ~ "Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth". Only God's (Psalms 83:18) Kingdom can bring peace, happiness, perfect health, and everlasting life.

She was more than a mother-in-law....she was a confidante, a friend and fun to go to Bingo with!:) Mary

Dearest Mom,I have so many wonderful memories of my childhood that you made so memorable for me. One that stands out (actually many) is the fantastic Christmas' you and Dad put together. We kids would go up stairs and wait for Santa to come. Sometimes we boys would try to eavesdrop to what was going on downstairs by placing a glass against the floor and try to hear through it. I think that was Ray's idea. We would wait until the cow bell was rung then would line up in age order and run down the stairs. What we saw was unbelievable. The entire living room was filled with beautifully wrapped presents.You would play Santa and start to hand out gifts; it was so wonderful. How you were able to do that for all of us was truly amazing. I will never forget those Christmas'.I love you Mom!

I don't have very many memories of Grandma, but the ones I do have will always remind me of what a kind, caring, and loving person she was. ~Maggie
