She was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Navy. She was married to Capt. William E. Jackson from 1948 to 1965and raised a family of four children.
Over her lifetime, she worked as a bookkeeper, a librarian assistant at Rogers Middle School, and in her later years worked for Princess Cruises.
Her life overflowed with love, joy, and generosity. Her laughter was contagious. Many summers were spent vacationing with her family in Erie, PA and in Waynesville, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Peter Thomas Andres and George Stephen Andres.
She is survived by her son Robert (Cynthia) Jackson, daughter Suzanne (Roger) Woelke, daughter Janet (Larry) Rinker, and daughter Patricia (Stan) Marks, 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild on the way, a niece, and nephews.
She was a longtime active member of First United Methodist Church in Fort Lauderdale.
A Celebration of Life service will take place on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 11 AM at First United Methodist Church, 101 SE 3rd Ave., Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Following the service, there will be a private burial at Lauderdale Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are made by Fred Hunter Funeral Home, Fort Lauderdale.
