Ellen Marie Braun Covey

Ellen Marie Braun Covey, 82, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her immediate family, on Thursday, December 6, 2024.

Ellen lived life with a vibrant spirit and an open heart. A proud member of the Red Hat Society, she found joy in the camaraderie and laughter it brought. She also loved spending time playing cards weekly with her dear friends, a tradition she cherished throughout her life.

With a natural green thumb, Ellen found beauty in every bloom and leaf. She cherished flowers and plants, surrounding herself with their colors and vibrancy, which reflected her own bright personality.

Above all, Ellen’s family was her greatest pride. She is survived by her loving children: Mary Sammarco and her husband John, Michael McCleary and his wife Serena, and William McCleary and his wife Angela. Ellen was the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren and the adoring great-grandmother of eleven great-grandchildren. Her family was the center of her world, and she found immense joy in their lives and accomplishments.

Ellen will be remembered for her warm smile, love of life, and the beauty she brought to the world through her nurturing spirit and love of family and nature.

A celebration of Ellen’s life will be held. Flowers and plants, reflecting her love for their beauty, are welcomed by the family.

Ellen’s light will continue to shine through the lives of her family and the countless friends she made throughout her extraordinary life. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
