Bettie was born in Short Creek, West Virginia on August 29, 1936, to Donald Davis Randolph and Geneva Wanetta Rouse. Bettie attended Our Lady of Mercy School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
As a teen, Bettie won the title of “Miss Lake Silkworth”in Pennsylvania. She later met and married Wayne C. Shelton in 1952, with whom she had five children, Robert J. Shelton (deceased 2005), John C. Shelton, Ronald L. Shelton, James M. Shelton and Rosemary S. Clutter.
Bettie was a beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.
After moving to Florida, Bettie was an active member of the Moose Club. She later became a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church, where she was a CCD teacher and Christ Renews His Parish member.
Bettie was an avid reader who could easily read 8 large books in a week. She also loved to crochet blankets and baby clothes and play computer games.
Bettie will be remembered for her generosity, faith, love, courage and tenacity. She is greatly missed by all.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff of Trustbridge, who provided extraordinary care during her last days.
