She is survived by her husband Micheal Timm of Hamilton, her son Andrew (Alison) Lievense of Northville, her daughter Molly (Jon) Howell of Rockford, and her five grandchildren (Benjamin, Drew, Charlie, Lexie, and Clint). She is also survived by her siblings Tom (Luanne) Shashaguay, Jane (Menno) Fairbanks, Mary Jo (Bill) Wiswedel, Paul (Carol) Shashaguay, and Peter (Holly) Shashaguay, as well as Mike’s siblings Peggy (Kirk) Van Order, Denis (Debbie) Timm, and David Timm, and her mother-in-law Jo Timm.
Sally was born and raised in Holland, Michigan and was the fourth of six children of Bernie and Bea Shashaguay. She graduated from Holland High School and went on to Ferris State, where she earned her Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy. She spent most of her career as a pharmacist in Holland, working more than 30 years caring for patients and customers at Paul’s Pharmacy.
Over her life, Sally had many interests. She was a Dutch dancer in high school, and she continued dancing at the Tulip Festival with her sisters, eventually bringing her young children along to watch. She was always a quiet, loving, and supportive mother to her children.
In 1989, she married Mike and moved to Hamilton. It was there her love of gardening and flowers blossomed, a love she inherited from her mother. She and Mike had fields of flowers from Spring to Fall, especially daisies, lilacs, dahlias, and sunflowers that she shared with her friends and co-workers, brightening their day.
Always looking to stay active, Sally and Mike found a passion for country line dancing. They became dedicated participants of the West Michigan Bootscooters, and dancing instructors to people of all ages looking to learn.
After retiring, Sally was able to do more of the things she loved, which also included driving her grandchildren around their land on her golf cart, making dried apples, stamping personalized greeting cards, and taking road trips across the country, visiting national parks along the way.
A visitation celebrating her life will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, at Lakeshore Memorial, 11939 James Street, Holland. There will be a short opportunity to share stories about Sally at 6:30pm.
