Paul was born in Hamilton September 18, 1938 to Sherman and Julia DeBoer. He was a lifelong resident of the area, serving for over 28 years on the Holland Police Department prior to his retirement. He was a member of Fellowship Church, and the F.O.P. lodge. Paul loved to golf, was an avid bowler, and had tended to his vegetable garden every year.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn of 63 years; 3 children Rex (Pam) DeBoer, Evan DeBoer, and April DeBoer; 6 grandchildren, Kari DeBoer, Kelly DeBoer, Lindsey DeBoer, Phillip DeBoer, Jordan (Chelse) Olivo, Kelsy (Caleb) Klukos; brother Lloyd DeBoer; sisters-in-law, Isla Hamstra, Betty (Harry) Holtrust, Verna (Jim) Bosch, Dolores Bigham; many extended family and friends.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service to celebrate Paul’s life will be 2pm, February 5, 2023 (Sunday) at Fellowship Church, 2165 W. Lakewood Blvd., Holland. Officiating will be Rev. Nate Schipper. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8:00pm February 4, (Saturday) at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James St., Holland.
