He was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 61 years, Jean Eberly; sons Ted Eberly and Randall Eberly; sisters Dorothy Timm and Etta Kell; and sisters- and brothers-in-law Karen Orlowski, Jack Orlowski, Joan Brady, Lee Brady, B. James Schnaser, Rudy Timm, and Ray Kell.
He is survived by his daughter Connie (Dan) Bartoo; his sister, Diane Schnaser; and the lights of his life – his granddaughters – Callie Bartoo, Sabrina Bartoo, Debbie Slabbekoorn, and Denise Hill, as well as many nieces and nephews.
LeRoy spent many years working as a Sales Manager at Nabisco Brands. He retired in 1994 after 30 years of service and enjoyed his free time volunteering with his wife, Jean. LeRoy loved Jesus with all he had and was a devoted member at Grand Rapids First Church for over 40 years, where he served many years as elder, deacon, and care group leader. He had a passion for helping people achieve financial stability and worked with many people of the church to develop budgets and plans for becoming debt-free.
Friends may visit the family at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James St. Holland, MI, on on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Grand Rapids First Church, 2100 44th St. SW Wyoming, MI, on Thursday, August 15, at 11:00 a.m.
