Jim is preceded in death by his parents and survived by his beloved wife Shelia, his dog Lambie, his children, grandchildren, sisters, nieces, nephews, and other relatives who loved and will miss him.
Jim earned an engineering degree at the University of Michigan, where he met his wife Shelia, and a master's degree in operations research at Western Michigan University, where he served on the advisory board for the engineering department. He was an engineer at Wolverine Worldwide, Gibson Guitar, Herman Miller, and Steelcase.
He was a longtime member and past president of the Holland chapter of the Lions Club and a member of Second Reformed Church in Zeeland. Jim had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed traveling through 49 states (all but Alaska), hunting in the mountains of Colorado, and fishing in the Canadian wilderness. Jim expressed his artistic gifts through woodworking and photography. His photography captured the beauty of nature and expressed his love of the outdoors. His family wishes to express heartfelt thanks for the prayers and love of family and friends both near and far.
