Jacob "Jake" John Terpstra

Jake was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1928. He married the love of his life Carol Mae Karsten in 1950. He retired from Life Savers after 23 years in 1990. After retirement he and Carol enjoyed traveling in their Motor Home. Family meant everything to him and he loved to spend time in his workshop, gardening and always had time for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Carol in 2017, grandson Zachary Spaulding, and eight brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children Ron (Barb) Terpstra, Bob (Marcia) Terpstra, Kathy (Lon) Lundy, Mary (Dave) Spaulding; grandchildren Josh (Megan) Terpstra, Jordan (Maddie) Terpstra, Ryan (Jen) Terpstra, Michelle(John) Huntington, Chad (Nichole) Lundy, Eric (Lisa) Lundy, Ross (Nicole) Lundy, Tyler (Ashley) Spaulding, Connor Spaulding; also 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brother Pete (Ruth) Terpstra, sister Agnes Harmelink, brother-in-law Vern (Harriet) Karsten, sister-in-law Ruth Terpstra, and brother-in-law Jake (Margaret) Teunissen.

A celebration of Jake’s life will be 12 noon, Saturday, June 16, at Calvary Christian Reformed Church, 400 Beeline Rd, Holland, visitation will begin at 10:30.
