Born in Holland, MI on November 5, 1953, Dean’s 68 years were ones filled to the brim with life and love. He was a shining example of what a husband, father, Pappy, brother, uncle, friend, and coworker should be. Any role that Dean had, he fulfilled it and then gave even more. From his 34-year career at Haworth to a home project; from a weekend fishing trip to a road trip with his family, he was not one to do anything half-way or leave a job undone. And if you needed a helping hand? Dean was the guy to call: always giving, always willing, always doing more than expected. Dean worked hard, he played hard, and most of all, he loved those in his life with all he had to give.
That love continues to be reflected in the family who is left to mourn: His wife of 44 years, Debra; sons Cory (Jennifer) and Travis (Hallie); grandsons Raleigh, Theodore, Emmett and Sawyer; brother Kevin (Kathy); sister Linda (Cal) Veneberg. Dean was blessed with a deep and rich family of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews who all shared in the warmth and love that Dean brought with him to any family gathering.
Welcoming Dean with open arms in his passing are his parents Ray and Betty Dams, as well as his niece Tonya Dams.
A visitation for Dean will be held Monday, August 29, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James St, Holland, MI 49424. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Lakeshore Memorial Services.
