born in Memphis, TN and was the son of William Berry Cole, Sr and Faye Mayer Cole.
He was proceeded in death by wife of 33 years, Dorothy Russell Cole and wife of 38 years Joan Simmons Cole, great-grandson Thomas Jordan Cole, and step-son Donny Ratcliffe.
Survivors include brother Jimmy Cole (Dawn), children, Linda Cole Varnell (Don), Sandra Jean Cole, William Berry Cole, III (Selina), Donald Emery Cole (Paula) and step children Sandy Ratcliffe Bowen and Bobby Ratcliffe.
Grandchildren; Leslie Varnell Shelton (Adam), Laura Varnell Day, Rachel Faye Cole, William Berry Cole IV (Jamie), Tara Cole Brock (Bill), Tori Cole Komisky, Joshua Cole (Candice) Adam Cooper, Jesse Bowen (McKenzie) and Gabe Bowen (Christian). Great grandchildren: Lily Shelton, Joe Shelton, Layla Day, Lorelai Day, Mia Cole, Millie Cole, Nicole Nicholson, Tessa Craze, Gavin Brock, Hudson Brock, Jude Cole, Erin Cole, Ezra Komisky, Vivian Komisky, Bennett Bowen, Gideon Bowen, Declan Bowen.
Great, great Grandchildren: Aubrie Nicholson and Tatum Nicholson.
Bill graduated from Memphis State University and, after training at the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA
began an illustrious career with the FBI. He was well respected, not only in federal law enforcement
agencies, but local and state, as well.
Bill was a man of great faith, strength and courage and was devoted to his family, friends and country.
He was a church elder, Sunday School teacher, pilot, golfer, fisherman, hunter, camper, builder of radio
controlled airplanes, beekeeper, expert marksman, Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader. Most of all, Bill was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. We were very blessed to have him for 92 years.

Funeral services will be held at the Brainerd Presbyterian Church, 1624 Jenkins Road, Chattanooga, TN, on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Dane Deathridge officiating.
Interment with full military honors will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens, in Hixson.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until service time at Brainerd Presbyterian.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Brainerd Presbyterian Church or the Cole Family Endowed Scholarship at UTC 423-425-4057.
