Virginia was born in Birmingham, Alabama and has been a resident of the Chattanooga area for the past 51 years. She and her late husband owned and operated Lamplighter Books at Northgate Mall. She was a lifelong Christian and attended the Baptist churches.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Hare and a son, Larry.
Virginia is survived by her three sons, Russell (Glenda) Hare, Dennis Hare, and Scott (Jennifer) Hare; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am on Wednesday, March 10, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Mann officiating.
Graveside services will follow at 11 am on Wednesday at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Bible Village, 3001 Hamill Road, Hixson, TN 37343.
