TJ was born April 1, 1931 in Ooltewah, Tennessee and has been a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area. He served our country during the Korean War in the Air Force and was stationed in Germany. TJ was past president-owner of Signal Auto Parts and Signal Bumper Exchange. He was a former employee with DuPont. TJ was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church and the Larry Malone Sunday School Class. He was a former member of the Lakeside Lions Club.
TJ was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Ola Talley; a brother, Sidney from Ripley, TN and an infant son, Ronnie Lee Talley.
He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 57 years, Sara Quinn Talley; son, Gene Talley of Hixson; granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Talley of Hixson; grandson, Joseph Daniel Talley of Fredericksburg, VA.
The family would like to thank Ashley Ellis for her love and compassion during this time given to TJ and Sara.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. on Friday and 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the North Chapel.
Services for T. J. will follow at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the North Chapel with Rev. Ken Clark officiating. Entombment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in TJ’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association for research at 7625 Hamilton Park Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37421 or the building fund at Oakwood Baptist Church at 4501 Bonny Oaks Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
