Robert L. (Sonny) Gossett, 87, of Hixson died Friday in a local hospital. He was a 70-year member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 43 and worked for Jake Marshall Plumbing for 45 years. He also served for many years as a deacon at Central Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Margaret Gossett, daughter Glenda Scheuerman, son Ward Gossett, grandchildren Jenifer Sompayrac, Emily Hinerman, Josh Gossett and Abbey Antwine and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Martin-Boyd Home, 6845 Standifer Gap Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the North Chapel with Minister David Schonoff officiating. Interment will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. til 1 p.m. Tuesday before the service at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 5401 Highway 153.
