He was born on August 24, 1939 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee to the late Richard E. Patterson Sr. and Virginia M. Harris.
Pat attended Signal Crest United Methodist Church. In his earlier years, he proudly served in the TN National Guard.
He worked as an Employees Benefits Insurance Broker for many years working at several businesses including, AGA and Russ Blakely & Associates. Pat was passionate about his work and was very accomplished in all that he did, receiving many awards throughout his career. He was a member of the Million Dollar Round Table and the National Association of Life Underwriters and a board member of the Chattanooga Chapter of the American Society of CLU and CHFC.
Pat served on the board at the Signal Mountain Golf and Country Club. In addition to playing golf, he also was an avid drag racer with his brother for many years. Pat was a protector, provider, generous, a competitor, the nicest man you will ever meet, a friend to all and someone we could all emulate. He always found a way to connect to people no matter who they were or where they were at in life. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Cindy Patterson; children, Mala Womack, Jimmy McGarry and Christy Todd (Chris); grandchildren, Stephen Womack, Ashton Rosati (Michael), Mary Nell Todd and Joe Todd; brother, Dennis Patterson (Connie); niece, Kerri Clark and nephew, Patrick Patterson; special cousins, Sue, Greg and Lisa and his extensive golf family.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 am to 11:30 am on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Signal Crest United Methodist Church, 1005 Ridgeway Ave, Signal Mountain, TN 37377.
A celebration of Pat’s life will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, September 15, 2023 at the church with Pastor Dave Graybeal and Pastor Bill Thornton officiating.
