Raymond Teddy Holt

Raymond Teddy Holt, 78, of Harrison, left this earth to go to his heavenly home on Saturday, July 3, 2010.

He was born in New Hope, Alabama, son of the late Buford and Mae Webster Holt.

He was a member of Lighthouse United Methodist Church.

Ted was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from DuPont after 35 years of service. He was a member of Red Bank Masonic Lodge #717, F&AM, Chattanooga Chapter of Scottish Rite, 32nd degree KCCH, Alhambra Shrine Provost Unit, and Betsy Ross Order of Eastern Star. He served for many years as an advisor for Red Bank DeMolay and Rainbow Girls.

He was an avid woodcrafter, doing woodwork for numerous friends and colleagues.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mattie Belle Holt in September of 2009.

Survivors are a son; Johnny M. Holt of Harrison, TN; daughter, Patricia Kay Olive of McLean, VA; five grandchildren, Summar (Chris) Wilson, Kansas; Courtney (David) Ramsey, Georgia; George K. Harrison, Zachary Harrison and Whittaker Harrison of McLean, Virginia; four great-grandchildren, Holt and Addison Ramsey of Georgia; Ethan and Jacob Wilson of Kansas; a brother, Don (Betty) Holt of Huntsville, Alabama; brother-in-law, Charles O. Usrey of Huntsville, Alabama; a sister-in-law, Carline (Gary) Patrick of Arab, Alabama; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 7, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Hoyt Samples officiating. Burial will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 P.M. on Tuesday, July 6, at the funeral home.
