Ray was born on May 13, 1926, to James W. “Will” Crowe and Louella Barger in Spring City, TN.
He served God, his family, and his country faithfully.
Mr. Crowe was a World War II Navy veteran Fireman Second Class. After many battles with the Japanese, he witnessed the Japanese surrender and the signing of the peace treaty aboard the battleship, Missouri in Tokyo harbor. While in the Navy he attended Chicago School of Electronics. Ray owned and operated the Business Products Center ran by his family and serving the Chattanooga area for 30 years until he retired in 1992.
Ray enjoyed Golf, fishing, and was an avid Braves baseball and Tennessee football fan.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years; Frances Hartbarger Crowe, Father; James “Will” Crowe, Mother; Louella Crowe, Brothers; Marian Crowe, Boyd Crowe, Charlie Crowe, Walter Crowe, Sisters; Imogene Thurman, Willie Mae LeQuire and Gayle Roddy.
Ray is survived by his son, Glenn Ray Crowe (Kim) Daughter; Cindy Crowe Nixon (Rich); Grandson; Michael Joseph Irwin III (Summer); Granddaughter Misty Crowe; Great Grandson; Holden Brooks Irwin.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 16th, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist-North Chapel 5401 TN-153, Hixson, TN 37343. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 17th, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Friday, June 17th, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Chattanooga National Cemetery 1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404.
