Pauline “Polly” Smith King, 93, of Red Bank, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016. She was born on June 20, 1923 in Valdese, North Carolina to the late Charles Manuel and Mary Brown Smith. Polly was a member of Lupton Drive Baptist Church for 53 years and was also in Victor’s Sunday School Class. She enjoyed working in Hospital Ministry and Sick and Shut-In Ministry. Polly also loved to cook for and be surrounded by her family. She was always a gracious hostess that welcomed everyone. She is preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 65 years, Allon King; grandson, Chad Arnold; sisters, Ada (Paul) Wyatt, Clara (R.C.) Rhoney, Juanita (John) Brittian, Mildred (Paul) Smith; brothers, Charles (Betty) Smith, Jr., Roy Smith and Arnold Gene Smith. She is survived by her daughters, Lynda Garibaldi of Morganton, North Carolina and Joy (Gene) Kelley of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee; grandchildren, Brent (Anjie) Arnold, Amy Arnold, Dion Arnold, Lisa and Jason Garibaldi; great-grandchildren, Dylan Arnold, Hannah Arnold, Colston and Chloe Arnold, Alivia and Jonah Arnold; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, October 21, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. A celebration of Polly’s Life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, October 22, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with interment following shortly after at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Bro.
