Norma Pedigo Brown

She was born on February 12, 1922 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Ether and Elena Pedigo. Norma graduated from Central High School in 1940 and she resided in Prairie Peninsula in Hixson from 1966 to 2011. She was the executive secretary for Gilman Paint and Varnish Company for 25 years and she served 27 years as the bookkeeper of the family furniture business, Brown’s Warehouse, Inc. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Golden Gateway and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

Preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Ernest L. Brown, Sr.; granddaughter Christy Gail Brown Burr.

Survived by devoted son, Ernie Brown (Lynda Brown); 2 grandchildren Charlie Brown(Amie Brown) and Julie Brown Kesler(Will Kesler); 8 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Imogene Pedigo St. Claire and Gail Pedigo Pike; 2 nieces, Teresa St. Claire and Cindy Cagle and one nephew, Stephen Pike.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 3 PM at the Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel in Hixson with Elder Tom May officiating. Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 1 PM to 3 PM at the funeral home.
