Mary Elizabeth Lemley, lovingly known as Becky, went home to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. Becky was born on November 20, 1953, and lived a full life in Harrison, Tennessee. Living just a few steps away from her childhood home, Becky and her husband of fifty years, Anthony Lemley raised their three children, Deanna, Meghan, and Josh. Together they built a home where God, family, and friends were the focus.
Becky's personality was one where you instantly noticed her sense of humor. She was a wonderful cook and has a true calling for loving and caring for children. She was a member of Bayside Baptist Church for 48 years where she actively served in the church nursery and as the "snack lady" for numerous Vacation Bible Schools. Becky was often called to use her cooking skills for youth events that her children attended as well as the Wednesday night meals served at her church. In all of these roles, Becky's love for the Lord was easily recognized by her willingness to lend a hand. She was a wonderful listener to late-night phone conversations and her shoulders were always available for a hug or a good cry. Becky's ministry was a simple one, she was a true friend.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Dooley and Pauline Lackey from Harrison, and her siblings, Bobby Lackey, Patsy Plemons, Paul Lackey, and Charles Lackey.
Becky is survived by the love of her life, Anthony Lemley, and her children and grandchildren who were her pride and joy. They are as follows: her oldest daughter, Deanna (Brian) Priddy and their children, Ally and Hayden; her second daughter, Meghan (Pete) Cory and their children, Jack, Madison, Luke, and Hunt; and her son, Josh (Amanda) Lemley and their children, Zoe Evans, Madilyn Evans, and Baylor Lemley. Siblings, Jimmy Lackey, Barbara Ann Kelley, Linda "Sister" (Galon) Hough, and a slew of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Linda Gilley, Hospice of Chattanooga, Bayside Baptist Son Worshippers class along with many other special friends for providing Becky and her family with much needed care and support as she made her transition to her heavenly home.
