First, I want give my sincere condolences, prayers, and hugs to her immediate family! I'm utterly wrecked to find this out today! I also met Martha on a support site, very early in her recovery.  Watching her journey gave me so much hope for my family members struggling with addiction, that they too CAN RECOVER!!! I especially enjoyed watching her Her dedication to her family, and her  joyous response towards her Motherhood to her precious son! 


We spoke often up until I had a spinal health crisis, and complications stemming from a car accident on top of it. This was followed with 2 surgeries, exactly a year apart. Hence the delayed response. However, God never fails and he brought to my attention her absence today. I honestly just thought she'd been extremely busy with work and family. So I took a moment to look her up. I didn't expect to find this out, but are ANY of us ever truly prepared for such an immense loss?

During our friendship, I was overjoyed and awed by every single one of her milestones and accomplishments, no matter how big or small!!!! I also remember the amazing trips to Canada & Mexico with her amazing family! Her hilarious jokes and funny-faced pizzas she made at Dominos! Her pride in working, no matter what position! Her gratitude for every compliment, and especially towards her son, fantastic parents and sister! Her graduation from her Medical Assistant program! Her hopefullness & strength to seek independence. I can go on & on! I want to lastly say Thank YOU to her for letting us in! As a practicing Roman Catholic Christian, I know that God's mercy is more than we can imagine!

Today is Martha' s birthday. She would have been 31 years old today.. I had stopped by her Facebook  to wish her a happy  one and this is how I found out she passed away.My condolences to the family. She was a devoted mom and a great  friend to those that knew her... and  a SURVIVOR.  She will be missed.

I am so very sorry I just found out about Martha literally a few minutes ago. I met her on a support group and we instantly clicked. I felt like i knew her my whole life and never met her in person. My heart is broken especially for her little boy who i know was her everything and her parents and siblings. Also to all her friends I will never forget Martha ever

Please know that all the Bakkes are thinking of you and wish we were close enough to wrap our arms around you at this time.   Martha will be missed but not forgotten.  It is our hope that all the wonderful memories will help as you heal from this tragedy.

You were unlike anyone I ever knew. You were kind, compassionate, incredibly hilarious, and undeniably yourself. Anyone who knew you or got to meet you for the first time were captivated by your beautiful smile and warm, bubbly personality. Your son Grant has that same warmth and kindness towards others that I knew you were so proud of. You were such an amazing mother and friend. My heart aches but I know you can rest now. Rest In Peace my dearest friend. I love you and will never forget the light you brought to my life.

I worked with Martha for many years at Briargrove Pharmacy. She was a joy to be with. A loving and caring person. When I lost my daughter 9 years ago Martha was a blessing who came into my life and became a light. I remember when Grant was born and how proud and happy she was. I will always love and remember Martha. I’m sending love and prayers to her family. 

Martha was a joy to behold - most especially when posting pictures of she and her beloved Grant.  Her sometimes silly, always smiling and uplifting posts on social media offered a dose of inspiration and determination.  May the legacy of her love and goodness bring comfort during this confusing and surreal time of unfolding grief.  Please know that her precious life was loved - as is the entire Perry family. Martha had such a beautiful smile and loving heart. I remember her from her freshman year in my class at Memorial High, so spunky and full of life. I loved having her in class, and was so proud to see how she had turned her life around. I am heartbroken to learn of her passing. Martha had such a kind heart. She always knew how to make anyone laugh and could put a smile on anyone’s face. She was my best friend growing up and we had so many wonderful memories together. My favorite memories were our trips to Canada and learning to ski. We always had so much fun together! I know that Martha is in a better place and I will continue to pray for her family during this very difficult time.

I work for DCG at the North Georgia office and Martha was sent to help us out. I didn't have the opportunity to get to know her better but what I discovered was she was very sweet and funny.  She loved her son very much. She showed pictures of him every time she came to the office. She loved her family.  She will be missed.  My prayer to the family is that Good will keep you ever so close and give you all peace and comfort during this most difficult time. 

Martha was a great friend and coworker. We had so much fun working  and hanging out together. I will never forget when you called me to come be with you when Grant was being born. Martha was always the life of every situation. When i would see her coming towards me we would both start smiling immediately because we knew we were both about to be in for laughs. She also was a good listener and God knows a wonderful caring mother. Martha perry will be missed and always remembered. Thanks for the laughs! 

I am so sad to hear about Martha passing away. We worked together for 2 years at Domino’s. She was one of the kindest, funniest people I’ve ever met. My thoughts are with Grant, her family, and her friends during this difficult time.

I did't know Martha, but was able to get to know her a bit by reading the posts from her friends.  What an awesome woman and mom she was.  I have studied under her father Dr. Bruce Perry for the past 3 years and have experienced some of his heart which reflects in these posts on Martha.  I pray for the whole family and especially for Grant.  My heart goes out to each of you.

SHE WAS A REAL LIFE LONG FRIEND AND EVEN THO TIME HAD MOVED US ON WE STILL STAYED IN TOUCH FROM TIME TO TIME I HAD JUST SPOKE TO HER AND SHE TOLD ME HOW PROUD SHE WAS OF ME THAT I MADE IT THROUGH BRAIN SURGERY! Martha was one of my best friends. We talked almost all day and everyday. She meant the world to me. She was such a beautiful person inside and out. The world is a much different place without her. A part of me is gone because shes gone. All she talked about how much she loved Grant. I have so many memories of her. I loved every moment I saw her and talked to her.

I loved many of our childhood memories together, especially the time you came to stay with my family in Princeton and I came to stay with your family in Texas. I think it was over adjacent spring breaks because I remember we each got to visit the other persons school. 
You came to school with me and met all of my friends. You always had the sweetest heart and could make friends with anyone it seemed. 

I loved our sleepovers sharing a room and chatting and laughing most of the night on each of those visits. 

I will always think of you as a gentle and kind soul who had so much love in your heart for your friends and family.   I loved how you lit up and smiled when you talked about Grant. You loved him so much.  You were so proud of what a good and kind hearted, curious and playful boy he is.


I love you Martha. We miss you. May you rest in the peace of Christ. We will be praying for you and for your family.

Martha was such a special soul. She was quirky, funny, kind, and she obviously had a great love for her family, especially her son Grant. That's all she talked about and couldn't wait to get home to spend time with him. I remember when you first started at Diagnostic Cardiology. The very first day you were there you worked with me and we talked about you and your life. You were so funny! You always had one of us laughing with your humor and witty personality.  Your smile was contagious and your son was the light of your life. 
I have many memories of you but the best ones were when we gave you your “work birthday” party and you were so excited and touched by it that it literally almost made you cry.  
My best memory of you though, was just a couple of weeks ago. When I came out of work that afternoon, I had pulled my scrub top off due to not having air in my car , and only had my tank top on. You were coming out of the building,  seen me and pulled your scrub top off, only to expose your tank top. You said, “now we can both be the tank top girls and hugged me.” I started to laugh because we were boob to boob and I said, “Theres  Dr. Talbert. That’s kinda embarrassing, lol.(even though I don’t think at that point he had saw us) So she then screams out across the garage, “ HEY DR. TALBERT!!” As she was still boob to boob with her arm around me and us both in our tank tops I said, “Martha, how embarrassing!!” But we both laughed and he got in his car and left. 
That was one thing about her. You never knew what she was going to say or do, but she always kept me laughing and I loved her so much. I am going to miss you and the office isn’t the same already without your visits to us from across the hall, or you waving and screaming “Hey” as we walk by. 
I will be keeping your family and sweet Grant in my prayers though this very difficult time.
