Katherine was a lifelong resident of Falling Water, TN and a 1960 graduate of Soddy Daisy High School. She attended Hillside Baptist Church. She was employed at Cutter Lab for 16 years and later retired from Erlanger Hospital as a Birth Certificate Coordinator after 22 years.
Katherine had a passion for Democratic Politics and first joined the Greater Chattanooga Democratic Women’s Club in 1976 at the insistence of her mother. That began a political career of services, not only to the club but to candidates and the Democratic Party as well. She was a member of the Greater Chattanooga Democratic Women’s Club for 44 years. She served as President for Tennessee Federation of Democratic Women, East Tennessee Vice President for TFDW, President of the Greater of the Greater Chattanooga Democratic Women’s Club. She was chair of numerous committees on state and local levels and served on the Board of Directors of the Hamilton County Democratic Party. She received numerous awards, certificates, and commendations for services throughout her political career.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas C. Snyder; parents: Paul and Lottie Combs; siblings Raulston and Ralph Combs; Granddaughter Heather Ward; friend William McFarland.
Katherine was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She especially loved her role as Nana.
Survivors include her two daughters Sandy (James) Downer of Falling Water, TN; Pamela Keith of Soddy Daisy, TN; Grandchildren: Adam (Amanda) Ward, Melissa (Matthew) Green, Cory Ward, Jamie Downer, Natalie (Andrew) Bigham; Great-Grandchildren: Tyler, Taylor, Tristen, Logan, Addie, Emma, Owen, Telly, Anessa, Cameron, and Camilla.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 12th, 4pm-8pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North on HWY 153.
Funeral Services will be Sunday, December 13th at 2:00 pm in the chapel with Jerry Yother officiating.
