Dave and Sharon, I just saw this.  I have no words.  My prayers are with you.

John,Judy,Jeff, andSteve and Laura and  all the family,                                             My heart is aching for all of you.  I read about your precious loss so beautiful and young.  An angel that has gained her wings at far too young an age.  My prayer for all of you is a peace that only our Heavenly Father can give.  Hold fast to each other , talk about all the good memories, and know that you all have so many people praying for you as you face the hard days ahead.  You are loved.  May you feel the love and strength that we are all lifting up to you.  God’s blessings always.

I just wanted to say how sorry I was to hear about your niece. It is so hard to let go of people we know and love. Ivy Snow is a beautiful young girl. I know she will be miss by many. Our prayers for you all.

Ivy was an intern at NewsChannel 9. I could immediately tell she was different. She didn’t just go through the motions. She was there to learn. She was there to get better. And she worked so hard. She would come in at *4 IN THE MORNING* to shadow me, and she never complained about being tired. She stayed engaged throughout every shift. And she ALWAYS asked questions, which I loved. She wanted to grow as a journalist. And even though I was supposed to be helping her, she helped me! As a native of Chattanooga, she made use of her deep roots in the community to connect me with people who could add perspective to my stories. She went to morning editorial meetings and wowed the managers. Even as an intern, her story pitches were stronger than some of the full time reporters’ (mine included!). Ivy is, without a doubt, the best intern I’ve ever had. (She knew I loved a bakery on Signal Mountain. Before she left, she prepared gift baskets for my photographer and me. They were full of our favorite treats. She was incredibly sweet and thoughtful). And when her internship was over, she stayed in touch. She reached out for help with the application process and interviewing. She showed me examples of her writing and asked how to make them better. She sought advice because she was determined to do her best. I told my news director, “You have to hire her!!!” (he tried :) ). She was so beautiful – inside and out, and I’m devastated for her family and all of the families I know would have benefited from her dedicated reporting. Rest in peace, sweet Ivy.  

To Ivy's family:  I had the pleasure of meeting and interacting with Ivy for a short time  in my capacity as President of the Tuscaloosa Rotary Club as couple of years ago.  There were several fellow Rotarians who worked with her in getting the University of Alabama Rotaract club off the ground that year.  The Rotaract Club was started during our club's centennial year. Additionally, Ivy and her grandfather, John Germ, joined us for a night at our club gala in celebration this club milestone.

It was a great pleasure to have  met her and to have the opportunity to do this work with her on something she had a real passion to do.  She will be missed by all of us in Tuscaloosa, and we wish you many thoughts and prayers during this difficult time in having to say goodbye to someone that left this world all too soon.

My heart breaks for you and your family and I feel words are insufficient. My memories of Ivy will stay very clear. Those memories will include how everyone around  Ivy had a smile on their face.  Sharon, I remember passing you in the halls at Nolan as you checked on Ivy.  You girls have a special bond, hopefully you will be able to smile through tears as you remember the Ivy adventures and all the joy she brought to each of you. My prayers and condolences to your family.  

To Ivy's family. My family and I would like to send our deepest sympathy. Ivy was there for my family during one of the worst times of our life's. She was the only News Reporter that showed our family compassion and understanding for what we were going through. We weren’t just a story to her!!! She became part of our family, someone we could count on. She was and forever will be in our hearts. I know she is in heaven with Koy Spears(my nephew) getting the rest of the story. Rest easy Ivy. We love you.


I have no words that can heal the broken hearts for all Ivy's loved ones.  I hope the good memories they all share will somehow bring  them comfort; That each morning when the sun rises they may recall her beautiful smiling face and know she is there to light up their days. 



Ivy was that person that could walk into any room and immediately brighten it. She was such a pleasure work with and be around. While her time was short, her impression on the WHNT newsroom and our community were not. She would listen to every word of what she was taught and strive her hardest to follow it exactly. She was a true journalist that made her community better.  Thank you for the time that we were gifted to call her both coworker and friend.

I'm so sorry for the family and friends of Ivy. I never met her but I feel like I know her from watching the terrific job she did reporting for WHNT.  She was a real treasure. We all will miss her and our hearts are heavy. Prayers of comfort for you all.

The Shikoh family is devastated at the news of Ivy's passing.  So many wonderful memories come flooding to mind of this beautiful soul-inside and out- and the wonderful times we spent with her growing up.  Those gorgeous sparkling eyes and sweet spirit of little Ivy will stay with us forever along with many fond memories of family time spent together.  All our love and prayers to Sharon, Dave and Winter and all of the Ervin family.

I am Angela Ervin, Ivy's aunt.  Ivy was always a beautiful and precious child.  She grew up to be a  lovely lady, inside and out.  She had a loving spirit and had a smile that would light up a room.  We enjoyed so much our time with her and love her so dearly!  The world will not be a better place without her.   We love you sweet child!

Ivy, although our time and interaction was limited due to distance, we were always two of the "three amigos" who were dating or married into the Petty family. We always had a blast when we were together. Thanks for giving me the best college experience at Alabama. It was an honor to get to know you and your family. I will always remember taking you shooting for the first time- you were a ringer! Your talents were limitless. We will miss you and always have you on our minds. 

Ivy has been a part of my family and another sister for the past few years. Through her love, commitment and spirit, I watched as my baby brother Forrest grew into a man. Their connection and bond was contagious. It was a joy to be around them and to watch the positive impact she had on him. Ivy fit perfectly. She is irreplaceable and will forever hold a spot in our family and our hearts. Ivy, I have so much admiration for you as a woman, as a professional and as a strong and positive influence. You brought more joy than you could ever know to the lives of the people around you. I wish I was closer to honor you in person. Until we meet again my darling sister. 

Ivy was a dedicated journalist and a joy to be around. Working with her on news stories in the Huntsville area was a pleasure. She was professional, jovial and determined to get to the truth and gave everything 110%. The WAFF 48 News team has her family and friends in our thoughts and prayers. Ivy, thank you for being so kind, so down to earth, so sweet and so caring to your fellow reporters. You will be missed. Prayers of comfort for her family, friends and news team. She was a shining star.

Ivy had truly uncommon grace and kindness.   I ran into her in town a few years ago.  I had not seen her in 10 years.   She immediately smiled her sweet smile, remembered my name, and spoke to me like I was a close friend.   Her overall beauty, kindness and sweetness will be sorely missed.

I remember Ivy as a baby and what a sweet little one that she was.  I just loved her and taking care of her!  She was always such a sweet, giggly little girl  who was always so happy.  She was a cute baby with the prettiest eyes that just shined!  She was such a joy!!  I was pregnant with my little girl when I took care of her!  Heaven received a beautiful angel.
