Helen Marie Dunn Crowe was born November 3, 1927 in McCaysville, Georgia and married to the late James Eldon Crowe, Sr. for over 40 years. Her husband and her parents, John Simon and Blanche Allen Dunn, predeceased her. Her five children survive her: James E. “Jimmy” Crowe, Jr. (Margret), Dianne Kelehear, Linda Smith (Mike), Judy Toline (Eric), and Kenneth “Kenny” Crowe (Julie), with twelve grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren, and ten great, great-grandchildren. She had a special place in her heart for each one.
Known affectionately as Mamaw, she had a love for God and she was a charter member of Bayside Baptist Church. She was a long time resident of Harrison of more than sixty years. She loved her family more than anything else. Her passion for family continues with her children. She enjoyed cooking and her biscuits and jelly will be dearly missed. She was an avid gardener whether it was her variety of colorful flowers or her many different types of vegetables.
With sincere appreciation, the family would like to thank the wonderful Hospice of Chattanooga staff. We would especially like to thank her caregivers, Stephanie and her family who were devoted to her care for over five years, and recently Candace.
