He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ruth Noonan of Ashland, Massachusetts.
He is survived by Mary Agnes Noonan, son Jack, sisters Beth (Tom) Hill of Worcester, Massachusetts and Nancy Noonan of Oxford, Massachusetts, brother Mark (Kerry) Noonan of Worcester, Massachusetts and several nieces and nephews.
He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and the Interfraternity Council. He was an active member of the St. Jude Knights of Columbus Council 8576 where he was Past Grand Knight and District Deputy.
He was in the transportation industry for twenty-five years. An avid golfer and member of Creeks Bend Golf Club, he had scored three holes-in-one.
The family wishes to express gratitude to the loving and caring staffs at the Chattanooga Tumor Clinic and Infusion Center, Dr. Mary Hammock and Dr. John McCravey.
The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel with a rosary at 8:00 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, February 9 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Michael Nolan and Father Charles Burton officiating. Interment will follow at the Mount Olivet Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Chattanooga Tumor Clinic, Inc., 975 East 3rd Street, Box 241, Chattanooga, TN 37403 or Chattanooga Deanery Catholic Schools Operating Fund, c/o St. Jude Catholic Church, 930 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, TN 37415.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist.
